Who are our Customers
The Customer Benefits Program is available to all recharge customers of campus utilities on a first come first serve basis. We understand the challenges with rising utility costs and want to support your team in continuous conservation improvements. By working with LADWP representatives and your departmental teams, Energy Services will help maximize your rebates. Incentives are reserved on a first come, first served basis until yearly allocated departmental funds are exhausted. If departmental funds are exhausted before the fiscal year end, unused funds from separate departments may become available come April of that fiscal year but are not guaranteed. Yearly departmental funds will be calculated and redistributed at the start of every fiscal year.
Program Overview
As UCLA continues to prioritize climate and energy initiatives, UCLA Energy Services has launched an attractive utility customer program designed to offset the increasing burden of regional energy rates. In addition to often dramatic cost reduction, within this program are options to maximize environmental efficiency, improve the comfort of any given workspace, identify and eliminate waste, and ease overall energy demands.
HVAC Optimization
The HVAC optimization program focuses on adjustments to HVAC schedules for more efficient usage. With no upfront costs, minor adjustments can deliver major savings, including an additional rebate from Energy Services (ES) that equals 30% of the overall annual energy saved.
LED Lighting Upgrades
By converting UCLA’s campus buildings to LED lighting, this program projects a 20% reduction in annual campus electrical usage. With Energy Services matching LADWP’s rebate, 10- 15% of the cost of the project will be covered and departments can recover their investment in five years or less, turning a routine upgrade into a long-term savings opportunity.
Energy Audits
Energy Services will fund $20K for energy audits in exchange for departmental commitment to 5% energy reduction. Exceeding 10% of energy savings can earn a bonus rebate of $40K, creating a strong incentive for long-term improvements.
Water Savings Strategies
Energy Services will review and quantify the number of possible upgrades and submit a rebate reservation for LADWP approval. Energy Services will match the LADWP rebate.
EV Charging Programs
Energy Services will match LADWP’s EV charging rebates starting at $4,000, as well as assist in processing all necessary paperwork.
Custom Programs
In addition to our featured programs, Energy Services can work with you to develop unique programs to fit your department’s needs and coordinate appropriate rebates with LADWP.
