UCLA Facilities Management’s Hardware Shop, in partnership with DTS, is thrilled to announce the launch of the KeyTracker program, a transformative initiative to enhance key management and campus security. By leveraging mobile technology, KeyTracker streamlines key issuance and tracking, eliminates paper based processes, and champions sustainability. This innovative solution is already simplifying daily tasks for our staff while reinforcing our commitment to efficiency, accountability, and environmental responsibility.
KeyTracker meets the campus’s need for improved key control with a fully digital system. Every key’s journey, from issuance to return, is tracked through a secure digital audit trail, ensuring accountability is better managed for all users. This upgrade bolsters campus security, allows us to support our campus clients more effectively, and makes key management seamless for the Hardware Shop team. By replacing paper records with intuitive handheld tablets, KeyTracker also advances UCLA’s sustainability goals, fostering a sustainable workplace for our community.
Since its debut earlier this month, KeyTracker has made a significant impact. Our Hardware Shop staff have embraced the system, celebrating its ease and efficiency. We extend a special thank you to Ron Hand, FM Hardware Shop Manager, and Mary Smith, FM Hardware Shop Administrative Assistant, for their leadership and dedication in bringing this program to life. Their efforts have been instrumental in delivering smarter, more reliable solutions for the UCLA community.
Join us in celebrating this exciting step toward a safer, more sustainable campus!
