Employee Health Center Renovation Project

health clinic renovation before and after

After several years of planning, DPM completed work on UCLA’s new Occupational Health Clinic that opened on the ground floor of the Center for Health Sciences (CHS). The facility provides medical treatment of non-emergencies that occur during normal business hours, work-related injuries, illnesses and TB testing. In addition, Occupational Health or designated UCLA Occupational Health Clinic Partner provides referrals for therapy, diagnostics or specialist appointments as indicated.

The facility is a partnership with UCLA Health and the main campus. The new clinic includes a patient waiting area, exam rooms, nurses station, and a manager’s office. Their administrative functions will move up to the fifth floor in CHS soon.  The project enabled the consolidation of medical services into one space, and gives the Clinic greater visibility because of its location just off the Lobby from Switzer Plaza.

Occupational Health has moved from the CHS sixth floor to their newly renovated location on the first-floor main lobby of CHS, near Café Med. The newly remodeled space consists of a clinic area and an administrative office area. The clinic area consists of a patient waiting area, nurse station, exam rooms, manager’s office, drug room and restroom. The administrative office consists of 3 offices, open work stations, break area and conference room.

DPM’s project manager Eddie Hwang coordinated support services provided by the Maintenance and Alterations shops and worked with the Fire Marshal and Campus Building Official to complete the project allowing the Clinic to open.
