In late April, Design and Project Management (DPM) completed a much needed repair of Westwood Boulevard from Le Conte Avenue to Charles E. Young Drive South executed over the span of three 2-day weekends to minimize traffic disruptions. The project was part of the campus’ Fiscal Year 20/21 Deferred Maintenance program and was closely coordinated with the Transportation Services planning group, most notably Director David Karwaski. Working with traffic engineering firm KOA, DPM Project Manager Kirk Findley and the entire team of stakeholders developed plans that added additional roadway markings, reflectors and bike lane delineators to improve commuter safety on the primary artery into the UCLA campus from the south.
