Program Overview
As UCLA continues to prioritize climate and energy initiatives, UCLA Energy Services has launched an attractive utility customer program designed to offset the increasing burden of regional energy rates. In addition to often dramatic cost reduction, within this program are options to maximize environmental efficiency, improve the comfort of any given workspace, identify and eliminate waste, and ease overall energy demands.
HVAC Optimization
Adjustments to HVAC schedules can reduce unnecessary runtime and generate substantial savings. Savings include rebates equal to 30% of first-year energy savings, creating a fast, low-effort ROI.

LED Lighting Upgrades
Conversion of UCLA’s campus to LEDs projects a 20% reduction in annual campus electrical usage. With rebates from Facilities Management and LADWP, departments can recover their investment in five years or less, turning a routine upgrade into a long-term savings opportunity.
Energy Audits
Facilities Management will fund $20K for energy audits in exchange for departmental commitment to 5% energy reduction. Exceeding 10% of energy savings can earn a bonus rebate of $40K, creating a strong incentive for long-term improvements.

Water Savings Strategies
Facilities Management will review and quantify the number of possible upgrades and submit a rebate reservation for LADWP approval. Facilities Management will match the LADWP rebate.
