What began as a routine installation for the Sign Shop turned into a two-month project filled with challenges. The wall was larger than expected, requiring Signmaker Mark Vogt to rebuild most of the design file from scratch. The mural needed to integrate interchangeable photos and flat cut-out letters, which required careful planning and precise alignment.
Commissioned by the University Police Department (UPCD), the mural aimed to showcase pride in both the university and its work, featuring live-action photos of daily operations. The planning took about seven weeks, involving multiple design revisions and client feedback. Once finalized, materials were prepared, and Signmaker Maximino Preciado assisted with the installation.
Despite the obstacles, the final mural exceeded expectations, showcasing the Sign Shop’s ability to adapt and deliver under pressure.
