The Roofing Shop—Jorge Hernandez and Gabriel Rodriguez, with support from Antony Vasquez, Jorge Huerta, Roger Salazar, and Danny Sandoval—has successfully completed a full roof recoating project at Boelter Hall.
This project was initiated following years of recurring leaks that required frequent repairs. The team was able to resolve the issue thoroughly by applying a complete recoating across the entire roof surface.
The roof was treated with a white, 100% silicone roofing system, which creates a durable and seamless barrier designed to prevent future water intrusion while extending the roof’s overall lifespan. The coating is expected to provide reliable performance for more than 20 years.

Beyond improving waterproofing, the white silicone coating is highly solar-reflective, helping to enhance energy efficiency by reducing heat absorption. The system also meets California Title 24 energy efficiency standards for reflective roofing.
